Diagnostic ultrasounds, including trans-vaginal and trans-abdominal exams, and saline contrast sonography is used to evaluate:

Pelvic pain
Abnormal bleeding
Pelvic masses
Known uterine fibroids
Ovarian cysts
Preoperative pelvic assessment
Screening for ovarian cancer

Fetal Ultrasound & Diagnostic Services

First trimester ultrasound to evaluate:
Possible miscarriage
Bleeding
Uncertain gestational age
Multiple pregnancy
Uterine masses
Ovarian masses
Prenatal genetic screening
Ectopic pregnancy

Second trimester ultrasound to evaluate:
Uncertain gestational age
Placental location
Multiple pregnancy
Screening for anomalies
Gender determination
Follow up of first trimester abnormalities

Third trimester ultrasound to evaluate:
Inadequate growth
Excessive growth
Abnormal amounts of amniotic fluid
Placental location
Twin growth
Follow up of anomalies
Risk of premature birth

Biophysical profile:
Third trimester assessment of fetal well-being

Amniocentesis:
Second trimester evaluation of fetal chromosomes

Ultrascreen testing (prenatal genetic screening):
Includes ultrasound and blood collection
